Inspiration comes to me in various moments and ways, with a single shape, sound, or color. Long before I can define an idea of form and content and bring it from obscurity into reality, I am fulfilled by the emotions of something just “happening”. My work draws on a wide variety of aesthetic traditions, some of which come from my European background. It is nearly impossible to separate them from the creative process, so I use those subtle visual influences to share them with viewers. My recent mixed-media collages sketch a multilayered woman’s identity and personality as she presents it to the outside world.
